How to set up your VGA to HDMI PC to TV Converter

INSTRUCTIONS & NOTES:
1. Place the converter near your TV.
2. Plug the power supply (included) into an outlet and connect it to the converter.
You should see a RED light on the converter indicating that the power supply is working.
3. Connect the converter to your HDTV with the 3' HDMI to HDMI cable (included).
4. Connect the VGA with Audio cable (included) between your PC and the converter.
5. After connecting the cables as shown in the diagram, follow these steps:
- Select HDMI as the input source on your TV. If you have multiple HDMI jacks select the input source that you are connected to (HDMI1, HDMI2, etc.). Most HDTVs will only allow you to select an input source that is detected.
- Activate the VGA output on your PC. You will have to do this each time you turn on your PC. The quickest way is the Monitor Key Method. Hold down the fn key and press the function key with a little picture of a monitor on it. Each press of the monitor key may result in a different output mode (such as PC only, TV only, PC and TV at the same time, etc.). For additional help on this topic, please refer to our Installation Guide.
- Adjust your PC's video output to match one of the converters supported resolutions (1920 X 1080@60Hz, 1360 X 768@60Hz, 1280 X1024 @60Hz, 1024 X 768 @60Hz, 1280 X 720 @60Hz, 1280 X 768 @60Hz, 800 X 600 @60Hz, 640 X 480 @60Hz, 720 X 400 @85Hz). The quickest way to do this is by holding down the <CTRL> and <ALT> keys and then press <F12>. This will open your graphics properties where you can change the resolution. NOTE: Your HDTV must also support the selected resolution. Please check your HDTV user manual to find supported resolutions.IMPORTANT: When the converter is receiving a valid signal from your PC, your will see a BLUE light on the converter. Some units may have a GREEN light instead of a BLUE light. If you do not have a BLUE or GREEN light the you must change your PC's output resolution to one of the supported resolutions listed above.
- If you require additional assistance, email us at support@pctvcables.com. Please allow 24 hours for a reply.
NOTE: If you activate your PC's VGA output before the converter is plugged in and turned on, your PC's image may not fit on your HDTV. This is because the converter communicates with your PC (via DDC) to automatically adjust the resolution. If your PC's image does not fit on your HDTV, simply use the Monitor Key Method to turn your PC's VGA output off and then on again.
